GUDDU BADSHAH MURDER CASE CRACKED: 08 ACCUSED ARRESTED AFTER INTERSTATE OPERATION ACROSS 12,000 KM; ILLEGAL FIREARMS & AMMUNITION RECOVERED
South-East District Police have successfully worked out the murder of Md. Irshad Alam @ Guddu Badshah, who was shot dead at Lal Kuan, Pul Prahladpur, Delhi, on 28.07.2026. A total of 08 accused persons have been arrested following an extensive interstate investigation involving Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Telangana and Tamil Nadu, covering approximately 12,000 km.
BRIEF FACTS
On 28.07.2026, information regarding a firing incident at D-29, Chungi No. 3, Lal Kuan, Pul Prahladpur was received. On reaching the spot, Md. Irshad Alam @ Guddu was found murdered, while Md. Farukh was found injured with a firearm injury.
The Crime Team and FSL Team inspected the scene. Blood-stained exhibits, empty cartridges, live cartridges and metallic projectiles were recovered and seized as per law.
Initially, Md. Farukh projected himself as an injured victim. However, detailed interrogation, CDR analysis, technical surveillance, field intelligence and other evidence revealed inconsistencies in his version and his alleged involvement in the conspiracy surfaced. He was arrested on 28.07.2026.
INVESTIGATION & CONSPIRACY
Investigation revealed that the murder allegedly stemmed from an old rivalry between the deceased and accused Shamshad and Ashafak, originating from their native area in Supaul, Bihar.
As per the investigation, the accused allegedly hatched a conspiracy to eliminate Guddu Badshah and lured him from Bihar to Delhi on the pretext of settling their longstanding dispute. The purported settlement meeting was allegedly used as a trap, following which the deceased was brought to a rented premises/warehouse at Lal Kuan and shot dead.
The investigation further revealed that different accused persons allegedly performed specific roles relating to planning, coordination, transportation, accommodation, execution of the assault and concealment of evidence.
ARRESTED ACCUSED
1. Md. Farukh, 27 years, Pul Prahladpur, Delhi.
2. Md. Aftab, resident of Supaul, Bihar.
3. Md. Irfan, 23 years, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, UP.
4. Md. Shamshad, 28 years, Supaul, Bihar.
5. Md. Ashafak, 23 years, Supaul, Bihar.
6. Md. Rahmatullah @ Chhotu, 22 years, Supaul, Bihar.
7. Aman Yadav, 25 years, Lal Kuan, Pul Prahladpur, Delhi.
8. Md. Shoib Akhtar, resident of Supaul, Bihar.
Accused Shamshad and Ashafak were also found to have criminal antecedents, including their alleged involvement in a murder case registered in Supaul, Bihar.
IMPORTANT ROLE OF ACCUSED PERSONS
* Md. Farukh allegedly gained the confidence of the deceased, brought him to the rented premises on the pretext of settlement and facilitated coordination of the co-accused. He allegedly attempted to mislead the investigation by projecting himself as an innocent injured victim.
* Md. Aftab allegedly coordinated with the co-accused and facilitated the movement and assembly of the alleged execution team. He was traced to Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, where he was apprehended with the assistance of local police.
* Md. Irfan allegedly provided shelter/logistical assistance after the offence and concealed illegal arms and ammunition. On his disclosure, one illegal pistol, one extra magazine and live cartridges were recovered.
* Md. Shamshad allegedly emerged as one of the principal conspirators and remained in communication with the co-accused through internet-based communication platforms. His digital and communication links are being further corroborated.
* Md. Ashafak allegedly remained in communication with the other conspirators and participated in planning and coordination relating to the alleged offence.
* Md. Rahmatullah @ Chhotu allegedly participated in the execution of the planned assault and subsequently assisted in concealment/removal of material evidence.
* Md. Shoib Akhtar allegedly accompanied members of the alleged execution team during their movement from Tamil Nadu to Delhi and subsequently remained associated with the co-accused.
* Aman Yadav allegedly facilitated accommodation and logistics for the co-accused near Lal Kuan and subsequently joined the conspiracy after being offered financial consideration. He allegedly accompanied Aftab, Rahmatullah and Shoib on his motorcycle on the night of the incident and participated in the firing. Further recovery of the firearm and other case property allegedly concealed by him is being pursued as per law.
RECOVERY
During investigation, the following have been recovered/seized:
* 01 illegal pistol
* 01 extra magazine
* Live cartridges
* Other material evidence connected with the investigation.
Recovery of 02 additional illegal firearms and other case property allegedly concealed by accused Aman Yadav and Farukh is being pursued in accordance with law.
The recovered firearm and ammunition are being subjected to forensic/ballistic examination to establish their possible connection with the offence.
INTERSTATE OPERATION & TECHNICAL INVESTIGATION
The accused allegedly attempted to evade arrest by switching off mobile phones, changing locations and using internet-based/hotspot communication.
Despite these attempts, the police team successfully traced the accused through:
* CDR and technical analysis;
* Internet-based communication analysis;
* Location and movement analysis;
* Field intelligence and local verification;
* CCTV and other electronic evidence;
* Crime Team and FSL assistance; and
* Coordinated raids across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
The investigation involved an interstate pursuit covering approximately 12,000 km.
INVESTIGATION SO FAR
Investigation conducted so far indicates a pre-planned murder pursuant to an alleged criminal conspiracy, wherein different accused persons allegedly played different roles in gaining the confidence of the deceased, bringing him to the target location, arranging accommodation and transportation, coordinating the conspirators, arranging/concealing firearms, executing the assault and attempting to destroy or conceal evidence.
All 08 arrested accused persons have been produced before the Hon’ble Court.
Further investigation is in progress to recover remaining case property, establish the complete sequence of events through scientific and independent evidence, and identify any other person found involved in the conspiracy.
