MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH BY WEST DISTRICT POLICE
West District Police successfully conducted a special 48-hour “Operation Chakravyuh” on 05.09.2026 and 06.09.2026, with the focused objective of tracing and apprehending Proclaimed Offenders (POs) involved in various criminal cases.
The operation was conducted under the overall guidance and supervision of Sh. Hareshwar V. Swami, IPS, DCP/West District, and under the supervision of Sh. Abhishek Gupta, Addl. DCP-II/West District, ACP/Operations, ACP/Rajouri Garden, ACP/Tilak Nagar, ACP/Punjabi Bagh, ACP/Mayapuri, and the SHOs of all Police Stations of West District.
All Police Stations and operational units of West District actively participated in the drive. A total of 61 dedicated teams comprising 191 police personnel were constituted and deployed for systematic tracing, verification and apprehension of POs.
Through coordinated field action, intelligence gathering, technical inputs, verification of addresses and sustained efforts, the teams achieved significant results during the 48-hour operation.

👉 149 POs Traced/Arrested — 132 Male and 17 Female.
👉 81 POs Arrested.
👉 19 Expired POs Traced/Verified.

The cases worked out during the operation comprise:

KEY FEATURES OF THE OPERATION:-
Operation Chakravyuh was executed through a coordinated and intelligence-driven strategy focusing on the identification, verification and apprehension of proclaimed offenders.
Major operational measures included:
👉 Intensive verification of the addresses and whereabouts of POs.
👉 Development and utilisation of local intelligence and informer network.
👉 Technical surveillance and verification of available leads.
👉 Targeted raids at suspected hideouts and residential locations.
👉 Verification of POs lodged in judicial custody.
👉 Verification of deceased/expired POs through field-level enquiries and records.
👉 Close coordination among Police Stations and specialised operational units.
👉 Sustained efforts to trace absconding offenders and ensure their apprehension.
CONCLUSION:
Operation Chakravyuh has resulted in a significant breakthrough in tracing and apprehending proclaimed offenders and in working out a large number of pending criminal cases.
The tracing of 149 POs and working out of 175 cases within 48 hours reflects the effectiveness of coordinated, intelligence-led and proactive policing by West District Police.
