On 08.06.2026, a complaint was received at PS Paschim Vihar West wherein the complainant stated that while she was standing on the road leading towards Nangloi near Gate No. 1, Peeragarhi Metro Station, and was talking on her mobile phone, two unknown boys approached her. One of the boys came close to her while the other stood nearby. Suddenly, one of them snatched the gold chain and both accused persons fled from the spot.

BRIEF FACTS OF THE CASE:-

On 08.06.2026, a complaint was received at PS Paschim Vihar West wherein the complainant stated that while she was standing on the road leading towards Nangloi near Gate No. 1, Peeragarhi Metro Station, and was talking on her mobile phone, two unknown boys approached her. One of the boys came close to her while the other stood nearby. Suddenly, one of them snatched the gold chain and both accused persons fled from the spot.

Accordingly, FIR No. 190/26 under Sections 304(2/3(5) BNS was registered at PS Paschim Vihar West.




TEAM CONSTITUTION:-

A dedicated team comprising SI Sanjay, SI Sanjay Yadav, HC Satyawan, HC Rajesh and Ct. Naveen led by Insp. Ram Kishan SHO/ PS Paschim Vihar West and under the close supervision of Sh. Rajbir Lamba, ACP/ Paschim Vihar was constituted.


OPERATION AND RECOVERY:-

During the course of investigation, the police team meticulously analyzed CCTV footage from and around the scene of crime and simultaneously developed human intelligence to gather credible information regarding the accused persons.

On 14.06.2026, the team received specific information that the two boys involved in the present chain-snatching incident would come near Gate No. 1, Peeragarhi Metro Station to commit another offence. Acting swiftly on the tip-off, a dedicated raiding team was constituted and a trap was laid at the identified location. As a result, two suspects, later identified as Ajay and Ankush, were apprehended.

During sustained interrogation, both accused persons confessed to their involvement in the present case. At their instance, the snatched gold chain was recovered.

Accordingly, both accused were arrested in the case and the recovered case property was taken into possession as per legal procedure.
