शाहदरा जिला पुलिस की AATS टीम ने वाहन चोरी और झपटमारी के मामलों में शामिल एक आदतन आरोपी को गिरफ्तार किया है।

🚨 **शाहदरा जिला पुलिस को बड़ी कामयाबी!**

दिल्ली में वाहन चोरी और झपटमारी के मामलों में शामिल एक आदतन वाहन चोर को AATS, शाहदरा जिला पुलिस ने गिरफ्तार किया है।

पुलिस के मुताबिक, आरोपी पहले भी झपटमारी और वाहन चोरी के 17 मामलों में शामिल रहा है।

कार्रवाई के दौरान चार चोरी के दोपहिया वाहन बरामद किए गए हैं, जिनमें पटेल नगर से चोरी हुई Yamaha R-15 बाइक भी शामिल है।

इस कार्रवाई से तीन जिलों के चार वाहन चोरी के मामले सुलझाए गए हैं।

INCIDENT AND OPERATION:-
In view of the recent incidents of two-wheeler thefts in Shahdara District, the team of AATS/Shahdara was directed to intensify efforts to identify and apprehend the criminals involved in such offences. The team was instructed to conduct a detailed analysis of CCTV footage, develop local intelligence and maintain surveillance to trace the suspects.
Accordingly, a dedicated team comprising HC Nishant Sharma, HC Umesh, HC Kishan Pal, Ct. Ajay and Ct. Shubham was constituted under the leadership of Insp. Prateek Saxena, I/C AATS/SHD, under the close supervision of ACP/Operations, Shahdara, and the overall supervision of DCP/Shahdara.
The team conducted extensive field enquiries, deployed personnel in civil clothes and developed secret intelligence to identify and apprehend active auto-lifters.
On 24.10.2026, acting on specific secret information, the team apprehended a habitual auto-lifter, namely Ritesh @ Piyush Tinku, aged 23 years, near Indian Oil Petrol Pump on the Dilshad Garden–Ghaziabad DLF carriageway, within the jurisdiction of PS Vivek Vihar, Shahdara District, Delhi.
At the time of apprehension, the accused was found in possession of a black Yamaha R-15 motorcycle bearing registration No. GJ 23 DC 2XX3. On verification, the motorcycle was found to be stolen in E-FIR No. 22368/26 dated 18.09.2026, under Section 305(B) BNS, registered at PS Patel Nagar, Central District, Delhi.

INVESTIGATION AND RECOVERY:-
During the investigation, the accused was apprehended in connection with the recovered stolen motorcycle dated 25.10.2026 under Sections 35.1(E)/106 BNSS, PS Vivek Vihar/AATS, Shahdara District. The recovered Yamaha R-15 motorcycle was taken into police possession through a seizure memo.
During interrogation, the accused allegedly disclosed his involvement in other motor vehicle theft cases. Pursuant to his disclosure and at his instance, three additional stolen two-wheelers were recovered. Verification revealed that the recovered vehicles were involved in theft cases registered at PS Hauz Khas, South District, and PS Vivek Vihar and PS Anand Vihar, Shahdara District.
With these recoveries, the dedicated team of AATS/Shahdara successfully worked out four cases of motor vehicle theft spanning Shahdara, Central and South Districts.

RECOVERY:-
1. Yamaha R-15 motorcycle — Black colour, Registration No. GJ 23 DC 2XX3.
2. Honda Activa scooter — White colour, Registration No. DL 3S CK 1XX8.
3. Hero Splendor Plus motorcycle — Black colour, Registration No. DL 13 SX 0XX3.
4. Suzuki Access scooter — Blue colour, Registration No. DL 14 TA 4XX6.

1. E-FIR No. 22368/26 dated 18.09.2026, under Section 305(B) BNS, PS Patel Nagar, Central District.
2. E-FIR No. 25370/26 dated 17.10.2026, under Section 305(B) BNS, PS Hauz Khas, South District.
3. E-FIR No. 25394/26 dated 18.10.2026, under Section 305(B) BNS, PS Vivek Vihar, Shahdara District.
4. E-FIR No. 25988/26 dated 23.10.2026, under Section 305(B) BNS, PS Anand Vihar, Shahdara District.
PROFILE OF THE ACCUSED:-
Ritesh @ Piyush Tinku, aged 23 years, son of Ravinder, resident of Paharganj, Delhi, is a Class IX dropout and resides with his family. As per available records, he has been repeatedly apprehended by various police stations in Delhi since 2024 in connection with motor vehicle theft and snatching cases.
The accused was recently released from judicial custody on 12.10.2026 and allegedly resumed committing two-wheeler thefts thereafter.

PREVIOUS CRIMINAL INVOLVEMENT:-
As per available records, the accused has previous involvement in 17 cases relating to snatching and motor vehicle theft.
