CRACK TEAM OF PS ANAND VIHAR SUCCESSFULLY NABBED TWO ACTIVE SNATCHERS; TWO SNATCHING CASES SOLVED TWO CASES OF MOBILE PHONE SNATCHING WORKED OUT HONDA ACTIVA SCOOTY USED IN CRIME RECOVERED ONE SNATCHED MOBILE PHONE RECOVERED
BRIEF FACTS:-
On 20.06.2026, at about 12:35 AM, a mobile phone snatching incident was reported near CBD Ground, Shahdara, within the jurisdiction of PS Anand Vihar. Based on the complaint of Mrs. Geeta Luthra, resident of Krishna Nagar, Delhi, a case vide FIR No. 234/26 dated 20.06.2026 under Section 304(2) BNS was registered at PS Anand Vihar.
Considering the seriousness of the offence, a dedicated team was formed to identify and apprehend the culprits
TEAM AND OPERATION:-
A special team comprising:-
1. SI Ashok Rajbaniya
2. ASI Deepak Kumar
3. HC Lokesh
4. HC Sonu
was constituted under the leadership of Inspector Manish Kumar, SHO/Anand Vihar, under the close supervision of Sh. Mohinder Singh, ACP/Vivek Vihar, and overall supervision of the DCP/Shahdara.
During sustained interrogation, accused Dishant Talwar disclosed that he had committed the offences along with his associate Furkan @ Afsar. He further confessed their involvement in another mobile phone snatching incident that occurred near Bahubali Park, Anand Vihar.
Acting on his disclosure, the police team apprehended co-accused Furkan @ Afsar from his residence at Shastri Park, Delhi.
During interrogation, both accused disclosed that they were addicted to alcohol and used to commit mobile phone snatchings to earn quick money for sustaining their addiction. The snatched mobile phones were sold at throwaway prices to meet their expenses.
Efforts are being made to recover the remaining case property, including the Apple iPhone involved in FIR No. 236/26. Further investigation is in progress.
RECOVERIES:-
1. One Honda Activa Scooty No. DL6SAM-XXXX used in the commission of crime.
2. One snatched mobile phone pertaining to FIR No. 234/26, PS Anand Vihar.
3. Clothes worn by the accused persons during the commission of the offences.

PREVIOUS CRIMINAL INVOLVEMENTS:-
Accused Dishant Talwar: Previously found involved in 05 cases of theft, snatching and other offences.
Accused Furkan @ Afsar: Previously found involved in 03 cases of theft, snatching and other offences.
CONCLUSION:-
The successful detection of both snatching cases and arrest of the accused reflects the effective investigation, technical surveillance, and prompt action of the team of PS Anand Vihar. The operation resulted in the recovery of the vehicle used in the crimes and the stolen mobile phone, helping prevent further offences. Further investigation is in progress to ascertain the accused's involvement in other similar cases and recover additional stolen property.
