BRIEF FACTS OF THE CASE
On 24.06.2026, at about 02:00 PM, during routine patrolling duty in the area of Arya Samaj Road, Karol Bagh, Ct. Pankaj received specific information regarding a suspicious person roaming near CPWD Quarter Khandhar. Acting swiftly, the police official reached the spot and noticed the suspect behaving suspiciously.
On seeing the police, the suspect attempted to flee. However, Ct. Pankaj chased and successfully apprehended him. During his personal search, one illegal country-made pistol (Desi Katta) was recovered from the right pocket of his lower/pant.
The information was immediately conveyed to the Duty Officer and a case vide FIR No. 198/2026 dated 24.06.2026 under Section 25 Arms Act was registered at PS Prasad Nagar. Investigation of the case was entrusted to HC Baljit.
The operation was carried out by a dedicated team comprising HC Baljit, Ct. Pankaj and Ct. Sanjay under the close supervision of Insp. Anuj Kumar, Inspector/L&O, PS Prasad Nagar and under the guidance of Sh. Shivam, IPS, ACP/Sub-Division Karol Bagh.
The police team promptly reached the spot, secured the accused and seized the recovered illegal firearm as per legal procedure. The accused was arrested on 24.06.2026 and produced before the Hon'ble Court on 25.06.2026.
