पूर्वी जिला पुलिस की बड़ी कार्रवाई! एएटीएस टीम ने अवैध हथियार रखने वाले एक आरोपी को गिरफ्तार किया है। आरोपी के कब्जे से एक सेमी-ऑटोमैटिक पिस्टल और दो जिंदा कारतूस बरामद किए गए हैं। पुलिस की त्वरित कार्रवाई से हथियार के संभावित दुरुपयोग को रोका गया।

एएटीएस, पूर्वी जिला द्वारा आर्म्स एक्ट का आरोपी गिरफ्तार; सेमी-ऑटोमैटिक पिस्टल एवं जिंदा कारतूस बरामद एएटीएस, पूर्वी जिला की टीम ने अवैध हथियार एवं गोला-बारूद रखने वाले एक आरोपी को गिरफ्तार किया है। आरोपी के कब्जे से एक सेमी-ऑटोमैटिक पिस्टल तथा दो जिंदा कारतूस बरामद किए गए हैं। गिरफ्तार आरोपी की पहचान लक्ष्य चावला (20 वर्ष) निवासी ईस्ट विनोद नगर, दिल्ली के रूप में हुई है। इस संबंध में थाना पांडव नगर में एफआईआर संख्या 223/26 के तहत धारा 25 आर्म्स एक्ट में मामला दर्ज किया गया है। पुलिस की त्वरित कार्रवाई से अवैध हथियार के संभावित दुरुपयोग को रोका गया तथा अपराध की रोकथाम संबंधी पुलिस प्रयासों को और मजबूती मिली।

BRIEF: -
In a significant success against illegal arms possession, the Anti Auto Theft Squad (AATS), East District, arrested one accused, namely Lakshya Chawla, R/o East Vinod Nagar, Delhi, aged 20 years, and recovered one semi-automatic pistol along with two live cartridges from his possession. The operation reflects the alertness, prompt response, and professional approach of the East District Police in ensuring a safe and secure environment for the public.

INCIDENT & INVESTIGATION: -
In compliance with the directions of senior officers and as part of sustained efforts of Delhi Police to strengthen preventive policing, the staff of AATS, East District, has been continuously engaged in intelligence gathering, surveillance, and development of actionable inputs regarding criminals involved in carrying and supplying illegal firearms in Delhi and adjoining areas.

A dedicated team under the leadership of Insp. Anand Singh, I/C AATS/East District, and under the overall supervision of Sh. Pawan Kumar, ACP/Operations, was tasked with working on specific inputs related to illegal arms activities. The team comprising SI Vikram Singh, SI Sandeep Singh, SI Devender Kumar, ASI Rajiv Kumar, ASI Munender, ASI Praveen, ASI Satyavir, ASI Deepak Tyagi, HC Vikrant, and HC Ashwani was deployed for preventive patrolling and verification of criminal activities in the area.

On 28.06.2026, a specific input was received regarding a person carrying illegal arms and ammunition in the East Vinod Nagar area. Acting swiftly on the information and following a well-planned preventive strategy, the team laid a trap near DTC Bus Depot, East Vinod Nagar, Delhi. The operation culminated successfully when the suspect was intercepted and apprehended. During his search, one semi-automatic pistol along with two live cartridges was recovered from his possession.

The accused was identified as Lakshya Chawla, resident of East Vinod Nagar, Delhi. During interrogation, the accused disclosed that he had procured the recovered pistol with the intention of taking revenge against his rival over previous enmity and also for his personal safety. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the weapon and identify any possible criminal links.
