BOOTLEGGER ARRESTED BY PS NAND NAGRI; 198 QUARTER BOTTLES OF ILLICIT LIQUOR, SCOOTY, AND ₹2 LAKH SUSPECTED SALE PROCEEDS RECOVERED

In a continued drive against the illegal liquor trade, the staff of Police Station Nand Nagri achieved a significant success by apprehending a bootlegger and recovering a large quantity of illicit liquor along with cash suspected to be the proceeds of the illegal business.

On 05.07.2026 at about 09:35 AM, a dedicated police team comprising HC Sachin, Ct. Sanju, and Ct. Sanjay was on routine patrolling and checking duty in the area of A-3 Block Sabzi Mandi, Nand Nagri. During checking, the team intercepted a suspicious person riding a scooty. On inspection of the vehicle, the police recovered 198 quarter bottles (35.640 litres) of illicit liquor from his possession.

पुलिस के अनुसार बरामद नकदी अवैध शराब की बिक्री से अर्जित रकम होने की आशंका है। मामले में आगे की जांच जारी है।

On inspection of the vehicle, the police recovered 198 quarter bottles (35.640 litres) of illicit liquor from his possession.

The accused was identified as Jasvir Singh (20 years), S/o Harpal Singh, R/o A-3 Block, Nand Nagri, Delhi.
During sustained interrogation, the accused disclosed that he had been supplying and selling the illicit liquor on behalf of one Sunny, S/o Sanjay, R/o B-Block, Nand Nagri, Delhi. Acting promptly on the information, the police team conducted a search at the residence of the said person and recovered ₹2,00,000/-, suspected to be the sale proceeds of the illicit liquor business.

Accordingly, FIR No. 377/2026 under Sections 33/45/58 of the Delhi Excise Act and 3(5) BNS was registered at Police Station Nand Nagri, and investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source of the illicit liquor, identify other persons involved in the racket, and trace the complete supply chain.

On detailed investigation it came to light that the parents of Sunny also having criminal history, his father Late- Sanjay was a BC of the area and now his mother Rajni is also a BC of the area with 14 previous involvements related to Delhi Excise Act and NDPS Act.

Accused Arrested - Jasvir Singh (20 years) S/o Harpal Singh R/o A-3 Block, Nand Nagri, Delhi.

Previous Involvement - Involved in one case of Motor Vehicle Theft.

Recovery
• 198 quarter bottles (35.640 litres) of illicit liquor.
• One scooty used for transportation of the illicit liquor.
• ₹2,00,000/-, suspected to be the proceeds of the illicit liquor trade.

Further investigation is in progress to arrest the absconding Sunny.
