BRIEF: -
East District Police has achieved a significant breakthrough by solving a robbery case registered at PS Pandav Nagar. Through sustained investigation, meticulous technical analysis, and extensive field enquiries, the police arrested two accused persons involved in the robbery and recovered the vehicle used in the offence along with part of the robbed foreign currency.
INCIDENT: -
On 06.07.2026, a representative of Tripsway Forex Pvt. Ltd., Noida, received a call from a person identifying himself as Mr. Singh, who urgently requested delivery of 5,500 Euros at Sai Chowk, Madhu Vihar, Delhi. Accordingly, the company's field executive Hare Krishna Jana (42 years) proceeded from Noida carrying 5,500 Euros, 35,000 Thai Baht, 2,600 US Dollars, 1,200 Chinese Yuan, and ₹10,000, with a total value of approximately ₹9.79 lakh. While en route, the caller shared a live location and instructed the delivery executive to reach the specified spot. Upon arrival, he was made to sit inside a car where three persons robbed him of the entire cash bag after spraying chilli spray on him and fled from the spot. Accordingly, FIR No. 239/2026, under Sections 309(4)/309(6)/3(5) BNS, was registered at PS Pandav Nagar and investigation was taken up.
TEAM & INVESTIGATION: -
Keeping in view the gravity of the offence, a dedicated team comprising Insp. Pankaj Saroha, SI Ashish Tushir, ASI Rajender, HC Bharat, Ct. Ramkesh and Ct. Nitesh was constituted under the supervision of the SHO, PS Pandav Nagar and the guidance of ACP/Mayur Vihar.
The team immediately verified the address provided by the caller at Sai Chowk, Madhu Vihar, only to find that the premises had remained locked for several years and that no person by the name of "Mr. Singh" had ever resided there, indicating that a false identity and address had been used to execute the crime. Investigators carried out extensive technical analysis of the mobile number used to contact the complainant. Initial enquiries at the address linked with the SIM card revealed that it had been obtained using forged identity documents. Further technical analysis and sustained field enquiries led the team to develop crucial leads towards Vishnu Garden and subsequently Multan Nagar, Meerut (Uttar Pradesh). The police conducted discreet local enquiries and extensive door-to-door verification, which led to the identification of the associates of the person posing as "Mr. Singh". Based on these efforts, the team apprehended Kartik @ Kittu and Kavaljeet @ Goldy from Meerut.
INTERROGATION: -
During interrogation, both accused initially attempted to mislead the investigation. However, after sustained questioning and confrontation with the evidence collected during investigation, they confessed to their involvement in the robbery. At their instance, the police recovered the Hyundai Xcent car used in the commission of the offence along with 1,100 Euros, which formed part of the robbed property. Both accused are presently on Police Remand. Efforts are being made to arrest the remaining co-accused and recover the remaining robbed foreign currency.
