AUTO-LIFTER ARRESTED BY AATS/EAST; 07 STOLEN TWO-WHEELERS RECOVERED, SEVEN VEHICLE THEFT CASES WORKED OUT AATS/East District arrested an active auto-lifter, Rohan Singh @ Aman (18), resident of East Vinod Nagar, Delhi. 07 stolen two-wheelers recovered from his possession and at his instance. 07 vehicle theft cases worked out across East and Central Districts. Accused was apprehended following specific intelligence, field surveillance and a brief chase near NH-24, Madhu Vihar. Further investigation is in progress to identify his associates and establish his involvement in other vehicle theft cases.

BRIEF: -
In a significant success against vehicle theft and street crime, the AATS/East District has arrested an active auto-lifter and recovered 07 stolen two-wheelers, thereby working out multiple vehicle theft cases registered in East and Central Districts. The accused, Rohan Singh @ Aman, aged 18 years, was apprehended by the AATS team after specific information was developed regarding his movement in the area of East District. The arrest and recovery reflect the team's sustained field surveillance, intelligence gathering and prompt action against active criminals involved in vehicle theft.

TEAM, INCIDENT & INVESTIGATION:-
To curb motor vehicle theft, snatching and street crime in East District, the staff of AATS/East District intensified preventive checking, patrolling, surveillance and local intelligence gathering. The team worked under the close supervision of Sh. Pawan Kumar, ACP/Operations, and under the leadership of Insp. Pramod Kumar, I/C AATS/East District. The dedicated team comprised SI Vikram Singh, SI Subhanshu, SI Sandeep, ASI Deepak Tyagi, ASI Rajeev, HC Manoj, HC Rahees, HC Vikrant, Ct Rajeev and W/Ct Tamanna.
During the intervening night of 18/19.08.2026, HC Manoj and HC Rahees developed specific information regarding the movement of an active auto-lifter in East District. Acting upon the information, the team laid surveillance and intercepted the suspect near NH-24, Madhu Vihar, East Delhi. When the police team attempted to apprehend him, the accused tried to escape. After a short chase, the team successfully overpowered and apprehended Rohan Singh @ Aman, who was found in possession of a stolen Hero Splendor motorcycle. During further investigation and on the instance of the accused, 06 more stolen two-wheelers were recovered. Thus, a total of 07 stolen vehicles were recovered and 07 vehicle theft cases were worked out. Further investigation is in progress.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED: -
Rohan Singh @ Aman, resident of East Vinod Nagar, Delhi, aged 18 years, is an active vehicle thief. His father is an auto-rickshaw driver and his mother has expired. The accused is also stated to be addicted to alcohol.
