ACTIVE AUTO-LIFTER ARRESTED BY AATS; FIVE STOLEN TWO-WHEELERS RECOVERED

👉🏻 Manipur-based active auto-lifter arrested from Kotla Mubarak Pur.
👉🏻 Accused had come to Delhi for stealing two-wheelers.
👉🏻 05 stolen two-wheelers recovered.
👉🏻 05 motor vehicle theft cases registered at different police stations worked out.

INCIDENT, TEAM & OPERATION

In pursuance of the directions of senior officers to curb the rising incidents of motor vehicle theft and apprehend active auto-lifters, dedicated teams of AATS were continuously conducting anti-auto theft operations across the district under the guidance of Insp. Mukesh Meena, I/C AATS/West and Sh. Vijay Singh, ACP/Ops, special teams were deployed to identify and apprehend habitual vehicle thieves.

During the course of the operation, a dedicated team comprising SI Gajender Mathur, HC Nand Kishor, HC Devinder, HC Banwari and Ct. Rameshwar developed information regarding an active auto-lifter involved in stealing two-wheelers in Delhi.

Through meticulous analysis of CCTV footage and development of local intelligence, the team identified and tracked the movements of the accused. Acting upon specific information, the accused was apprehended from Kotla Mubarak Pur, Delhi. The accused was identified as Zamir Khan R/o Thoubal, Manipur, Age 31 years.

During interrogation, the accused disclosed that he had come to Delhi from Manipur for the purpose of stealing two-wheelers. He, along with his associate, used to steal motorcycles and scooters from different areas of Delhi. His associate used to transport and supply the stolen vehicles to Manipur and other States for wrongful gain.

During sustained interrogation, at the instance of the accused, 05 stolen two-wheelers were recovered from different locations of Delhi.

Further efforts are being made to apprehend the associate and identify other members of the interstate network involved in the theft, transportation and disposal of stolen vehicles.
