Investigation Team - PS Seelampur
The Incident
Today, 11.06.2026, during the early hours, information was received at PS Seelampur that a man had allegedly assaulted his wife at their residence and fled the spot.
Upon reaching the location in the Gautampuri area, police found a 35-year-old woman lying dead. The deceased was shifted to JPC Hospital, and the body was subsequently sent for post-mortem examination (PME).
Investigation & Dedicated Team
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 231/26 under Section 103(1) BNS was registered at PS Seelampur, and investigation was taken up.
A dedicated team led by the Inspr. Narpal Singh Yadav/SHO, PS Seelampur comprising of:

- HC Navneesh
- HC Manish
- HC Krishan
- HC Roki
- Ct Sachin
The team worked under the supervision of Shri Malkiat Singh, ACP/Seelampur, collected evidence from various sources, and worked on available leads.
Arrest of the Accused
Based on the clues gathered during the investigation, the team successfully traced and arrested the accused, identified as Daud Ishaq Khan (36 years), S/o Ishaq Khan, R/o Gautampuri, who is the husband of the deceased.
Confession & Recoveries
During sustained interrogation, the accused disclosed that an argument had erupted between them over a trivial issue, during which he assaulted his wife with a mini hammer.
At his instance, the weapon of offence—a mini hammer—and the clothes worn by him at the time of the incident were successfully recovered by the police.
Current Status
With the arrest of the accused and recovery of the weapon of offence, the case has been worked out. Further investigation is in progress.
