BRIEF FACTS OF THE CASE:-
A PCR call was received at PS Nihal Vihar regarding a snatching incident near Sukkar Bazaar, Chander Vihar, Nilothi, Nihal Vihar in which caller reported that he had gone to collect money from a contractor and immediately after the contractor handed over the cash, two unidentified miscreants arrived on a motorcycle, snatched ₹2,000 from his hands and fled from the spot.
TEAM CONSTITUTION:-
A dedicated team comprising SI Parminder, HC Mahipal and HC Kapil led by Insp. Shispal, SHO/ Nihal Vihar under the overall supervision of Sh. Rajbir Lamba, ACP/ Paschim Vihar was constituted.
OPERATION:-
During the course of investigation, CCTV footage in and around the place of occurrence was meticulously analysed. Simultaneously, local intelligence was developed and sustained efforts were made to identify and trace the accused persons involved in the incident.
On 20.05.2026, specific information was received regarding the presence of the accused persons in Chander Vihar. Acting promptly on the intelligence, a raid was conducted and two accused persons, namely Pradeep Singh @ Haggi Maru and Gurdeet Singh, were apprehended.
During interrogation, both accused persons confessed to their involvement in the present case. The motorcycle used in the commission of the offence was also recovered and seized. Upon verification, it was found that the motorcycle was registered in the name of Kamaljeet, who is the brother of accused Gurdeet Singh.
During sustained interrogation and further enquiry, accused Pradeep Singh @ Haggi Maru was also found to be previously involved in two other cases of snatching registered at PS Samaypur Badli.
Both accused persons were arrested in the present case and the recovered motorcycle was seized as case property in accordance with law.
