Keeping in view the increasing incidents of house theft and burglary in West District, the Anti-Burglary Cell of Special Staff intensified surveillance over active burglars, particularly members of notorious gangs known for conducting reconnaissance of residential areas before committing break-ins. A dedicated team comprising SI Sanjeet Rana, HC Ajay, HC Balwant, HC Sanjay, HC Vikas, and Ct. Gurmeet, under the leadership of Insp. Rajesh Maurya, was constituted and continuously monitored the activities of such criminals.

👉 An active and habitual burglar was apprehended while conducting reconnaissance for house burglaries
👉 Accused found in possession of a stolen Hero Splendor motorcycle.
👉 Two stolen mobile phones recovered from his possession.
👉 Two additional stolen motorcycles recovered at his instance.
👉 Timely action by the Anti-Burglary Cell averted possible burglary incidents in West District.

*INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION*
Keeping in view the increasing incidents of house theft and burglary in West District, the Anti-Burglary Cell of Special Staff intensified surveillance over active burglars, particularly members of notorious gangs known for conducting reconnaissance of residential areas before committing break-ins. A dedicated team comprising SI Sanjeet Rana, HC Ajay, HC Balwant, HC Sanjay, HC Vikas, and Ct. Gurmeet, under the leadership of Insp. Rajesh Maurya, was constituted and continuously monitored the activities of such criminals.

On 16.06.2026, acting upon specific and credible information, the team laid a trap near Punjabi Bagh Nala Crossing, Shivaji Enclave, Rajouri Garden, and apprehended Mohan S/o Ganpat Singh while he was moving suspiciously on a Hero Splendor motorcycle bearing Registration No. DL-8SDA-1024. Upon verification, the motorcycle was found to be stolen from the jurisdiction of PS Paschim Vihar East.

During his search, one stolen Vivo Y16 mobile phone and one stolen Realme C61 mobile phone were recovered from his possession. Verification established that the recovered mobile phones pertained to theft cases registered at PS Hari Nagar and PS Kirti Nagar, respectively.

During sustained interrogation, the accused disclosed that he had concealed two more stolen motorcycles near City Square Mall, Rajouri Garden Metro Station (Pink Line). Acting on his disclosure, the police recovered one Yamaha FZ bearing Registration No. DL-8SCQ-5474 and one Yamaha R15 bearing Registration No. DL-8SDL-3036, resulting in the successful detection of multiple vehicle theft cases.

The prompt action and vigilant surveillance by the Anti-Burglary Cell not only led to the arrest of an active burglar but also prevented potential house burglary incidents in the area.

*PROFILE OF THE ACCUSED*
👉 Mohan S/o Ganpat Singh
👉 Age: 38 Years
👉 R/o Village Amba, Tehsil Badwa, District Khargone, Madhya Pradesh.

During interrogation, the accused disclosed that he was a drug addict and committed thefts and burglaries to finance his addiction. He further revealed that he travelled to Delhi specifically to commit burglaries after conducting reconnaissance of residential colonies and avoided maintaining a permanent residence by staying on footpaths and near Gurudwaras while using stolen motorcycles for movement.
