Operation Details

The team of PS Bindapur is being motivated and sensitized to keep a watch on the active criminals who have been released from jail recently and are roaming in the area with the intent to commit crime.

A dedicated team of police officials of PS Bindapur, comprising HC Neeraj No. 1950/DW, HC Deepak No. 701/DW, Ct. Rajesh No. 1387/DW, HC Gajendra No. 1096/DW under the supervision of Insp. Naresh Sangwan SHO/Bindapur and overall supervision of Sh. Sanjeev Kumar, ACP/Dabri was constituted to nab such active criminals in the area.

Secret informers were also deployed in the area to gather intelligence.

The Apprehension

On 06.06.2026, the police party received secret information that one person namely Umang @ Mangu, who is a notorious criminal of the area, infamous for committing petty snatching incidents by threatening people with a knife and had been sent to jail on several occasions in the past, was roaming in the locality carrying a knife and was also in possession of stolen mobile phones.

The informer further stated that immediate action could lead to his apprehension. Acting upon the said information, the police party laid a trap and successfully apprehended Umang @ Mangu.

During his formal search, one illegal button-operated knife was recovered from the right pocket of his trousers. Further search led to the recovery of three mobile phones from his possession. The recovered mobile phones were checked through available records and were found to be stolen property.

Accordingly, the recovered knife and mobile phones were seized as per law, and further investigation was taken up.

Interrogation

On interrogation, he disclosed his details as Umang @ Mangu S/o Susil Kumar, aged 25 years. During frisking, one illegal push button knife was taken from his pocket and 03 mobiles were recovered from his possession. Regarding this, FIR No. 293/2026, dt. 06/06/2026, u/s 25 Arms Act, PS Bindapur was got registered and he was arrested in the same FIR.
