Press Release: Special Staff, East District busted a Gaffar Market-based gang involved in receiving and unlocking stolen mobile phones and arrested two mobile software technicians.
A total of 45 mobile phones, 22 mobile phone bodies, one laptop and a Chinese-based AMP Tool used for bypassing security locks were recovered from their possession.
Investigation details
Investigation revealed that the accused were illegally unlocking suspected stolen mobile phones for resale in the grey market.
Out of the recovered items, seven phones have already been linked to theft and loss cases registered in Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
Current Status
Further investigation is in progress to trace the origin of other recovered mobile devices and identify further linkages to street crime syndicates.
